The Palm Oil Collaboration Group
The Palm Oil Collaboration Group (POCG) brings together companies from every stage of the palm oil supply chain to accelerate effective implementation of No Deforestation, No Peat Expansion, No Exploitation (NDPE) commitments. In addition to discussions which help to align thinking on key issues, the group also identifies areas for collaborative action.
How do we work?
The Palm Oil Collaboration Group aims to meet twice a year to discuss issues and challenges as a full group. Through these discussions, areas are identified where there are opportunities to collaboratively accelerate progress through development of practical solutions.
Work is taken forward through working groups. Working groups consist of POCG member companies and can include expert organizations, technical contributors and other invited stakeholders.
With the formalisation of the new governance structure for the POCG in November 2025, there is a current process to streamline and prioritise efforts of activities including for working groups. Workstreams as of March 2026 are as follows:
Implementation Reporting Framework (IRF)-Production and Protection Beyond Concessions (PPBC) Working Group: to maintain and update the IRF v6.0 tools and guidance, strengthen NDPE reporting and monitoring practices, apply verification protocols to assess implementation progress, identify and address smallholder‑related deforestation risks, and facilitate collective action in priority landscapes to support sector‑wide NDPE outcomes.
Prior to 2026, previous working groups were as follows:
Social Issues Working Group (SIWG): to foster collaboration to address human rights issues on the ground (paused, pending review in June 2026).
Independent Verification Working Group (IVWG): to discuss, better understand and develop the most effective approaches to independent verification (IV) across different issues and for different purposes (closed in June 2025).
Latin American Working Group (LatAm WG): to ensure equitable engagement and collaborative action on priority sustainability topics through a dedicated Latin American platform (paused, undergoing restructuring).

Who is involved ?
The Palm Oil Collaboration Group (POCG) is a voluntary collaboration of companies in the palm sector. The POCG has grown organically in both size and scope, and there are now more than 40 participating companies including producers, refiners, traders, manufacturers and retailers in the POCG. Additional implementing partners and palm oil stakeholders (including key NGOs) have increasingly been involved in POCG activities and sector discussions. The POCG has evolved from an informal space for companies to discuss challenges and cooperate on solutions, to a group working systematically on a range of tools and guidance.
Since the November 2025 POCG meeting, the following organisational structure was formalised, defining the roles of the involved parties:
Collaboration Group: The POCG is made up of 30 companies from all stages of the palm oil supply chain including producers, refiners, traders, manufacturers and retailers. The members / Collaboration Group is represented by the member elected Governing Delegates that represent the POCG members for a 2-year term.
Working Group Coordinator: Technical coordination within current working groups is provided by Proforest.
Secretariat: The POCG Secretariat is delivered by Helikonia–PwC, coordinating GD processes and decision-making, supporting workstream delivery, managing member engagement, maintaining operational systems, and facilitating POCG meetings.
